Lara Sayegh is an Iraqi-British abstract painter based in London. Her large-scale works are inspired by the sea and the natural world, drawn particularly to the meeting point between land and water where movement and stillness coexist. Working intuitively and physically, she uses bold colour and gestural mark-making to capture the shifting energy of open water. Her palette of deep blues, greens, magenta, and black brings an emotional directness to the canvas that is both visually striking and immediately felt.
