Leah Wood is a British artist and an environmental activist. Best known for her paintings of nature and endangered species. Her painting mediums vary from a combination of traditional oils to a textured, unique mix of acrylic, oil, glue, chalks and cling film.  By using cling film in her works, Wood aims to highlight the plight of single use plastics and the detrimental impact on our planet. What emerges in Wood’s works is an intricate layered process of construction, deconstruction and finally reconstruction, visible through the textural layers, and resulting something almost sculptural, on a 2D canvas.
